Rick Harris is

Rothko

Rick Harris (Rothko) has a lifelong affection for the performing arts, studying Theater at VCU in Richmond and The Actors Studio in Boston. Rick has appeared in Boston productions of 5th of July, Domino Courts, Standing on my Knees and The Christus and in D.C. productions of Make Way for Dyklings, Two Boys in a Bed on a Cold Winter's Night and Sticks and Bones. Local productions include Dirty Blonde at Live Arts and Light House Studio Adrenaline Film Project’s Beautiful Strangers. Rick is excited to be with ShenanArts production of Red and excited as always to be back on the boards!

 

Justin Guidroz

Director

Justin Guidroz (Director) is excited to work with ShenanArts, especially with this new initiative underground! Originally from New Orleans, he received his B.A in Theatre from Mary Baldwin University. Founder of *NU* Productions, he has produced and directed over a dozen original works. Directing credits in the Valley include The Good Doctor at Oak Grove, The Delta Princes (staged reading) at Live Arts, Verbatim Verboten at SolArt Center, Peter and the Starcatcher at Court Square Theatre with Friendly City Players, No Words with *NU* Productions, and The Wolves at Mary Baldwin University. Yaritza Resendiz

Stage Manager

Yaritza Resendiz (Stage Manager) started her technical theater work in high school, working backstage for all four years, in various areas of backstage. She attended Mary Baldwin University with a focus on theater. Specifically with an interest in stage management and stage lighting. She worked on a number of productions during her years, such as stage managing the musical Flora and the Red Menace, and working lights on Love of the Nightingale and Small Mouth Sounds. She graduated from Mary Baldwin with a Bachelor of Arts degree. She continued her theater experience post university volunteering at the Oak Grove Theater. Following graduation, she stage managed The Old Man and the Old Moon and this past summer had worked lights on The Good Doctor. She strives to continue her technical theater work and wishes to make it into a future career.

ShenanArts (Producer) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit community theatre, founded in 1981. Their mission is to build bridges in the community through the shared experience of live theatre. Each year ShenanArts produces an ambitious schedule of plays and musicals by and for participants of all ages, always striving for material that appeals to the broad tastes of the community, to promote a culture of excellence and inclusion.

Kerri Hewett Is

Ken

Kerri Hewett (Ken) is a writer and theatre artist from Virginia Beach, VA. Her short stories, plays, and poems have been featured in JMU's Iris Magazine, It's all Fluff Magazine, Nowhere Girl Collective, and the Studio Stage at James Madison University. Her original screenplay,‘Til Death, resulted in an award-winning short film that she directed Harrisonburg's SuperGr8 Film Festival. Acting credits include Eleanor Vance in The Haunting of Hill House (Shenanarts), Rose in The Woolgatherer (Eunoia), Little Stone in Eurydice, Hannah in Epiphany (JMU), and Shelly in The Giant of Galway (Eunoia). Kerri holds a BA in anthropology, a discipline that informs all her work.

 

Theresa Carpinelli

Dramaturg

Theresa Carpinelli (Dramaturg) (she/her) is a dramaturg, museum professional, and interdisciplinary theatre artist trained in direction, design, management, engagement, and performance born and raised in Richmond, Virginia. Deeply committed to collaborative, educational, cross-disciplinary, and funky artistic processes, Theresa has served as production dramaturg, new work dramaturg, audience engagement professional, and script reader at the Williamstown Theatre Festival, Seven Devils New Play Foundry, Forbes Center for the Performing Arts, the JMU Studio Theatre, and in the greater Virginia community. She has been recognized and awarded for her dramaturgical work by the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival and the Stratford Players. Kennedy Cupid

Hair and Makeup

Kennedy Cupid (Hair and Makeup) is absolutely overjoyed to once again be working the production end of a show affiliated with ShenanArts. They have helped with almost a dozen different productions in various theatres, both on-stage and off, most notably playing the Sour Kangaroo in ShenanArt's 2017 rendition of Seussical, The Musical. Kennedy is looking forward to any further opportunities and hopes to work more with the company in the future!
